Brain Cancer and Brain Cancer Treatment

About Brain Cancer

There are two types of brain cancer, primary and metastatic. Primary brain cancer is an abnormal growth of cells within the brain. Metastatic brain cancer starts somewhere else in the body such as the lungs or kidneys and spreads to the brain. Also called Glioma or Meningioma.

Signs and symptoms of brain tumors may include:

  • Headaches, usually worse in the morning
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Changes in your ability to talk, hear or see
  • Problems with balance or walking
  • Problems with thinking or memory
  • Muscle jerking or twitching
  • Numbness or tingling in arms or legs

Brain tumors can be malignant (cancerous) or benign (non-cancerous) but benign tumors can become malignant.
