Eating Well During and After Your Cancer Treatment

You’ve heard the term food is medicine and now is the time to adopt this philosophy. Keeping your body nourished before, during, and after cancer treatment will help maintain your strength and stamina to recover with less side effects. Eating well-balanced meals packed with nutritious foods can also help prevent secondary infections and illness and allow your body to stay strong throughout treatment.
Your needs and preferences might change as a result of medicines and treatment; loss of appetite, changes in taste and smell, and how your body processes nutrients can make it challenging to eat regularly and meet your needs.
Check out the sample menu below for fresh healthy ideas to support you through all stages of treatment and recovery. If you need extra calories increase the serving sizes, especially with calorie dense foods like nuts and olive oil.
